How Kaufland fees are structured

Kaufland sellers pay two types of fees: a monthly base fee (Basic 39.95 EUR, Plus 59.95 EUR — regardless of sales volume) and a per-sale commission by product category between 7% and 16%. Important and often overlooked: the commission is calculated on the gross selling price including the shipping cost paid by the customer.

From contribution margin to true profit

This calculator shows the contribution margin of a single sale. Over the month, additional factors come into play that can't be captured per individual sale: returns (lost revenue plus return shipping), the prorated base fee, and indirect costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How high are Kaufland fees for sellers?

Kaufland charges a monthly base fee (Basic 39.95 EUR, Plus 59.95 EUR) plus a per-sale commission by category: between 7% (e.g. Computers & Electronics) and 16% (Jewelry). Most categories are at 13%. For Media, an additional 0.70 EUR per item applies. As of: June 2026.

What is the Kaufland commission calculated on?

On the gross selling price INCLUDING the shipping cost paid by the customer — not just the item price. The commission itself is quoted plus VAT, which VAT-registered sellers can reclaim as input tax.

What's still missing from this calculation for true profit?

Returns (lost revenue plus return shipping), the prorated base fee, packaging, payment defaults, and indirect costs. The calculator shows the contribution margin of a single sale — true profit across all orders is what a profit tracking tool like AfterCost calculates automatically.

Are the commission rates up to date?

The rates reflect the official Kaufland terms as of June 2026 (source: Kaufland Global Marketplace). Kaufland may change terms — the official terms page is always authoritative.
